This bespoke new home in the heart of the South Hams was designed in the style of a traditional Devon farmhouse that had been extended over the years. The main body of the house features accommodation arranged over three floors with rooms in the roof, and the two single storey ‘extensions’ provide additional living spaces with vaulted roofs and feature glazing.
The house features a traditional close roof design with simple flush fascias and a slate under cloak on the gables. The sliding sash windows and lead roofed timber framed bays complete the traditional design aesthetic. The single storey ‘extensions’ compliment the main house with matching natural slate roofs, but feature a different approach to the window details with larger, hardwood framed panes and simpler fenestration for a more contemporary aesthetic.
