Andrew is the practice principal and managing director and has worked in architectural studios for more than 35 years, running his own successful practice in Kingsbridge since 2000. Andrew obtained a wide selection of qualifications in construction and construction law at Plymouth whilst honing his skills in practice, and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Building (ACIOB).
Andrew worked within the Local Authority offices of Plymouth City Architects and Devon County Property Development as well as private practices in Plymouth and the South Hams before setting up his own studio. He has a wealth of experience in delivering a wide range of building typologies from small domestic projects through to large-scale residential developments and public / community buildings. Whilst members of the practice are able to operate autonomously, Andrew is always involved in overall project planning and will have an input into all schemes through collaborative brief and design development.
As well as running the office and collaborating on schemes with others in the studio, Andrew applies his broad skills base and experience to running his own projects. Andrew has developed his own distinctive architectural style, but is always keen to explore new methods and design ideas to work with a clients brief. He also gets a lot of enjoyment from the ‘nuts and bolts’ of how buildings go together, and is always on hand to help make sure the buildings perform as expected.
